The Talmud is one of the most important holy books of the Hebrew religion and of the world. No English translation of the book existed until the author presented this work. To this day, very little of the actual text seems available in English -- although we find many interpretive commentaries on what it is supposed to mean. The Talmud has a reputation for being long and difficult to digest, but Polano has taken what he believes to be the best material and put it into extremely readable form. As far as holy books of the world are concerned, it is on par with The Koran, The Bhagavad-Gita and, of course, The Bible, in importance. This clearly written edition will allow many to experience The Talmud who may have otherwise not had the chance.
The story of the Waldenses is one of the greatest spiritual sagas the world has ever known, yet few people have heard of them. Their story deserves to be told because, in spite of terrible persecution, their heritage is still alive and well today. They were devout Christians who tried to follow the original teachings of Jesus to the best of their abilities. The Church had different views and opposed them, including the Waldenses' efforts to translate the Bible out of Latin so that common people could read it. This book tells of their struggle to survive against a much larger and more powerful foe. It is told from the Waldenses' point of view, despite the previous belief that all we had known about them was written by their enemies.
This radical, sometimes offensive, book tells the author's ideas about government, religion, world power, the Rothschilds and money. He also describes the "hidden hand," the secret government of the world.
Known to be a masterpiece of freethought literature. The World's Sixteen Crucified Saviors has been out of print but sought after for many years. A small part of it was reprinted in The Book Your Church Doesn't Want You to Read in 1994, thereby causing renewed interest. Many people are unaware that before Christianity there were 15 other religions that also had a savior who died for their sins, then arose from the dead. Graves gives all the details inside, plus much more found in common like the immaculate conception of the gods, virgin born gods, magi, shepherds and angles who visit the infant saviors, the birthday of the gods being December 25th, plus an explanation as to how Jesus began to be worshipped as a God. Some scholars are suggesting that Jesus had spent time in India. One chapter in this book discusses 346 striking analogies between Christ and Chrishna, the Hindu god. Could this same story have travelled from India rather than the man himself? Could this everpresent story, "the greatest story ever told, " be the common link between all early religions? Has the purpose of religion, in general, been designed to provide all of mankind with a common set of beliefs, to keep us from learning the real truth for ourselves? It is difficult to answer these questions, and it probably always will be, but this book offers us a small step closer to the answers. It shows that Christianity is not alone and special in its beliefs, and may cause us to explore further into the origins of religion.
Where did our oldest Bible stories really come from? This scholarly work shows that our oldest Bible stories originated in ancient Babylon and Sumeria. The entire proof is laid out in the early part of the book, followed by an Appendix which includes translations of the creation stories from the Sumerians, Babylonians and Phoenicians. This is an excellent scholarly book, perfect for those researching the beginnings of mankind. In addition to creation stories, Clay covers the stories of the Garden of Eden, the Fall of Man, the Great Flood, and the Tower of Babel. These originals were found on clay tablets, written in cuneiform by the Sumerians. Cuneiform is the very first form of writing ever known on the earth. This is mainly a book on linguistic and archaeological studies by Clay, first published by Yale University Press, so the information is top notch and reliable. It is highly recommended for serious researchers and those curious about the early gods and man's origins. This book contains irrefutable proof that our oldest Bible stories came from far older sources, and are the oldest stories on the planet. These stories reveal incredible secrets when examined and studied closely, and are, in my estimation, the most important and revealing stories mankind has ever been able to preserve. We are lucky to have found and translated them. This book holds great wealth for those willing to reach in and explore.
Is the God of the Old Testament the true God that we should be worshipping? With this book, your views on God will never be the same. With clear Biblical evidence, Jehovah is shown to be an entity with virtually no sense of ethics, forgiveness, or compassion. In this book the following questions are seriously addressed: .Was Jehovah a god, or a demon? . Why did he never promise a heaven or any kind of reward to his followers? . Does any entity that murders thousands of devoted followers deserve to be worshipped? We have come a long way since the ancient barbaric tribes of the Middle East worshipped their various gods, including Jehovah. Tice puts forth the idea, long overdue, that mankind should be allowed to advance spiritually and religiously to keep pace with our modern intellectual maturity. We have walked on the moon, cracked the genetic code, and our knowledge grows exponentially. We are no longer an ancient, isolated tribe of nomads, but a thriving modern culture that deserves a more practical and loving God. This loving God does exist, so it is time to take the leap. Jehovah has stopped punishing people in terrible ways, so it is probably safe to buy this book.
The Knights Templar is a secret society that has existed for many centuries. Few books have been written about them from an insiders point of view. This book was originally released by the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar, United States of America, after seven years of historical research by an assigned committee. The author, Brown, was a member of that committee and their purpose was to provide Templars with an accurate history of their organization. It was for members only and much of the information is not found elsewhere. We've also added, from another source, their Constitution and Abbreviated By-Laws as a service for potential members or for those who desire a better knowledge of the inner workings of the Templars. These two works, combined together, will hopefully shed new light on an interesting and sometimes mysterious organization.
When the Spanish took over Central America in the 16th and 17th centuries they made certain to destroy the writings and holy books of the native Mayans in an effort to convert them to Christianity. Few texts survived, yet one did of the highest importance. It is called The Popol Vuh. It is the creation story of the Mayan culture and, according to the author, this was the first English rendering of that text. It tells the story of a great flood, gods who created mankind, and a number of other interesting parallels to mythologies from around the world. This is the "Genesis" of the mysterious Mayas and should be essential reading for those interested in our ancient past. The book also contains three bonus chapters from Spence on mythology and religion from ancient Mexico. All of the gods and deities are fully explained and at times compared with those from Greece, Rome, and Egypt. All told, this is a fascinating collection of mythology from Central America and Mexico.
The word Atrahasis means "extra wise" and refers to the earliest known version of Noah, who built an ark and saved mankind from destruction. This is that story, from ancient Sumeria, which many scholars believe was the original from which all known flood stories came from. This was the most popular story in the ancient world and has survived for over five thousand years. It is the only one that all cultures, worldwide, seem to share. Why? Was there really a great flood? And why do we not explore the oldest known version carefully for clues? That is the purpose of this book, which also includes a number of other interesting flood story fragments and documents.
Over the years many books have appeared about the Shroud of Turin, the possible burial cloth of Christ. This famous cloth contains the burned-in image of a man exhibiting the same wounds Christ is believed to have had as a result of his crucifixion. This was the first book ever written to explore the Shroud's photographic breakthrough, showing in great detail the amazing "negative image" and offering scientific evidence for the potential legitimacy of the Shroud as being a relic from Christ. The mystery is considered unsolved by many people, and a lively debate continues. Therefore, it is time make this amazing book available once again for serious study, offering one the ability to relive the discovery and examine information that might otherwise be lost.
Atlantis is a legendary continent that is said to have disappeared sometime in the ancient past. Lewis Spence presents evidence that Atlantis was located somewhere in the western hemisphere, in and around Central America. He does an impressive job of comparing Indian myths from various lands including Peru, Brazil, Central America, North America and the Atlantean story from the great philosopher, Plato. Many myths duplicate themselves, leading one to believe that they had a common source. That source, according to Spence, was Atlantis.
Historical document or a forgery? "The Archko Volume" contains the testimonies of Jesus' contemporaries, especially his enemies, concerning his arrest, crucifixion, and resurrection. Readers can decide for themselves if they truly contain the recorded testimonies of Caiaphas, Herod, and Pontius Pilate.
As many have suspected, there is much more to the true, authentic history of the Christian religion than what we had originally been told. Some claims regarding the Church's history are accurate, some are not. The most extreme claims against the religion come from the atheist camp and often remain unproved. But this book is completely different. It comes from a devout Christian, Henry Dana Ward, a believer in Christ who backs himself up with scholarly research and facts. Why, then, was this book written if it goes against traditional beliefs and acceptance? It is because the traditional beliefs surrounding the cross and its worship are wrong It took time for us to eventually accept the cross in its current form and to worship it and, according to Ward, this was a pagan symbol that should never have been adopted. Idols were not to be worshipped by the earliest of Christians, and the cross was no exception to this rule. Not worshipping the cross is consistent with early Christianity and is not heretical. Its lack of worship is part of Christianity's foundational beliefs and its exclusion should be part of the religion's current structure, according to Ward. Revering the cross is based on lies, deception, and ignorance. Ward shows how the lies began, who spread them, and how and why they did it. This book has not been in print since 1871. At the time it was released, books of this sort, which challenged accepted belief, were often banned from libraries and people were known to be arrested for sending them in the mail.
Vril is another name for the life energy of the body, known in other cultures worldwide as mana, prana, chi, or vital force. Most of the ancient cultures of the world were aware of this important force and worked to make use of it. In today's world, especially in the West, we move along through life completely oblivious to this truly vital force. Although this force cannot be seen, it is the life force within our bodies. It takes energy from food and provides muscles with energy, which in turn allows us to move about in daily life as well as grow and metabolize. Nourishment, digestion, and elimination are all driven by the life force. Vril also has a connection to the mind, and methods can be employed to store up its energy and use it constructively. Vril is not manufactured in the human body, but can be collected and used effectively. This energy is present in water, and especially in the air. This is why breathing is so important in the practice of meditation. A deeper part of us comes alive while we meditate, due to increased vital energy in the body combined with the relaxation of the mind. This book is by far the best guidebook known to this mysterious and powerful force. The exact mechanics of how it works are detailed, plus methods of gathering, conserving, and using its power. The exercises given are powerful and they work. This is really more of a self-help book than a simple fact book or mystical overview. Few books have packed in so much vital information in so few pages, and out of all the books we have ever seen, we can safely say that no other book from the West reveals anything close to the important information found here on this subject.
